Participate in the Commercial Mission for Sustainable Port Development in Brazil - March 2024.

BMF Advices is pleased to recommend participation in the upcoming commercial mission for sustainable port development in Brazil, taking place from March 3 to 7, 2024. This mission is led by Robert Simons, locoburgemeester and wethouder (deputy mayor and councilor) in Rotterdam.

This mission provides a unique opportunity for companies involved in the port development sector to explore their possibilities in Brazil. The itinerary includes a visit to the largest Latin American trade fair in the logistics sector, Intermodal in São Paulo, as well as an exploration of the port of Rio Grande. Additionally, it offers an exceptional chance to establish valuable contacts with stakeholders in the Brazilian port sector.

Port Development in Brazil: Opportunities and Challenges.

Ports play a crucial role in the Brazilian economy, responsible for nearly 95% of cargo transportation in the country. An annual increase of 5 to 10% in cargo is expected in the coming years, challenging the logistical capacity of Brazilian ports.

In addition to addressing this growth, Brazilian ports are undergoing a transition to make their operations more sustainable. Projects such as offshore wind parks play a significant role in this transformation, contributing to the production of green energy, including hydrogen production.

Opportunities for Dutch Companies.

Faced with these challenges, Brazil is seeking innovative and sustainable solutions, creating an opportunity for Dutch companies. With extensive expertise in ports, logistics, innovation, and sustainability, companies from the Netherlands have a unique ability to contribute to port development in Brazil.

Who Should Participate?

We invite Dutch companies involved in:

  • Innovative and sustainable port development, digitization, port logistics, and hinterland connections;
  • Renewable energy projects for onshore and offshore wind turbines and (green) hydrogen production;
  • Port infrastructure, including cargo terminals, pipelines, storage facilities, electrical infrastructure, and electrolyzers; air treatment facilities, desalination, and other water facilities;
  • Master planning and consultancy for ports;
  • Development of knowledge, skills, and employee expertise (human capital development).

Why Participate?

By participating in this mission, your company will have access to:

  • A comprehensive program with participation in exclusive activities;
  • Meetings with key Brazilian organizations in the port sector;
  • Greater understanding of market opportunities in Brazil;
  • Networking opportunities and the chance to meet potential business partners internationally;
  • Knowledge and experience exchange;
  • The opportunity to increase your company's visibility.

The Government of the Netherlands values corporate social responsibility, including human rights, and endorses the OECD guidelines. A condition for participating in this mission is that your company complies with these guidelines.
